Blurring the lines between illustration and design

Born in Northern New Jersey and raised in South Florida, Steve Naumann is an illustrator, designer, teacher, children’s book connoisseur, comic strip writer, beer snob, mediocre musician, terrible speller, beardsmith, and avid baseball fan. After receiving his BFA from the University of Central Florida, Steve joined the noble profession of teaching and has been poisoning the minds of young art students ever since.

Outside of the classroom, Steve creates scribbly illustrations and scruffy designs. The word design is used really loosely around here. It’s more an illegitimate lovechild of illustration and graphic design. The work is about wonky lines and misprinted color registration, in short, bringing the artist’s hand back to design.
